The little things…. October 7, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — sarahhamiltoncoaching @ 9:35 AM

You know how people say,” Enjoy the little things.” Well… I actually think that it is those little things that make all the difference and that they are not so little. Like…. a new pair of sneakers or buying yourself flowers or a sunny day after a lot of rain. This is assuming that they are just things, not big monumental moments in ones life…. But who’s to say that these “little things” don’t shift the regular moments in ones life to add more happiness so that the big moments can occur more often! So don’t knock those “little things” they may not be so little after all!

And what goes without saying but I am going to say it anyway…. everyone’s treasure is different, So hold those little things close to your heart you never know how it may grow into something pretty great!

What are you willing to do to help another? October 1, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — sarahhamiltoncoaching @ 1:49 PM

I witnessed an accident the other day… a rather violent car accident where I was the first on the scene to help an 18 year old girl who flipped her car. Suffice it to say that everyone was alright and this is not about me but it got me to thinking. I don’t believe that I did anything that anyone else wouldn’t have done…. right?

What do you think you would be willing and able to do in a crisis.  Are you a clear-headed person? Do you panic? But really… What are you WILLING to do? I guess this is on that same topic I tend to go back to about living and playing your life full-out…. Live it! Play! Reach out a hand because you never know when you will need one.

The Who of You… August 1, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — sarahhamiltoncoaching @ 1:26 PM

I once heard, and I am definitely rephrasing but it is something like… “If you can get a hold of him then he can get a hold of you so let him.” All of this is mote if you are showing up as your authentic loving self.   You simply love yourself enough to live an authentic life.

On a certain level this quote sounds like practical advice but how does that leave room for communication? And if one is living their life doing their own “thing” then they are not concerned with whether the phone is ringing or not… right?  So in today’s post I am sending it out to you to ask How does this resonate with all of you? Because to me this is certainly all about the what of you (external “rules”) not the who of you (internal values)…

So let me know what you think!

LOVE!

The Charlie Schultz Philosophy July 8, 2010

The Charlie Schultz Philosophy

The  following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the  creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.

You don’t have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them.
Just read the post straight through, and you’ll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.
These are not second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies….
Awards tarnish….
Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with
the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.
They simply are the ones who care the most.

Pass this on to those people who have either made a difference
in your life, or whom you keep close in your heart.

‘Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today.
It’s already tomorrow in Australia!’

What Pain might you not want to let go of? July 7, 2010

I have been thinking a lot about pain lately.  Some people and if we are all honest we have all dealt with some kind of pain that we tolerate whether it is a job that we are not quite content with or a relationship that we wish we could hold on to or there is Something that causes us tsuris.  We all stay in these unhealthy situations because we are actually getting something out of them…… they keep us safe. They don’t challenge us to move forward.  Maybe we don’t have to work on that which is causing us difficulty at our job or the relationship that we are in keeps us from being alone.  All of this is completely understandable yet…. we are still in pain. Now imagine a whole beautiful life, pain free!!  Only you can answer the question of what you are getting out of this situation that keeps you “safe”?  Because I wonder how safe are you really?  How is it serving you? And how much lighter will you feel without it?  Once you have answered these questions, understood them and are you able to move towards a healthier you, you are then moving toward the pain free life.

Also in terms of a job or even a relationship when we ask these questions we might find when we stand back we’ll see that our mortgage is getting paid and the kids are getting fed. While we see what we are getting out of a situation we also can see what is good around us and hence the pain seems least ubiquitous. Hence we move by choice and away from the discomfort of the pain so we are able to make conscious choices.

Sending you Love and Light on your journey towards self discovery

Goal Setting…. June 10, 2010

As a coach I help people reach their “goals” in an achievable sustainable way….   Yes you might want to increase your bank account, let go of some weight or even meet the partner of your dreams but I have a new thought for some of you…..

Your stated goal isn’t really your goal. Your goal is how this idea makes you feel.  What you thought was your stated goal is only the strategy for achieving peace, contentment, and love.  For example let’s say that you want to increase your income to well over a 6 figures.  The goal is, how will this make you feel and what will you achieve in reaching your stated goal.  Is it that you have more financial freedom or say it will give you the ability to live a fuller life?  So making more money is your strategy and not your true goal.

What does your true  goal and what t is your strategy to achieve it?

Brick Walls…. June 4, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — sarahhamiltoncoaching @ 12:03 PM

Do you know how some days your life simply flows with ease and you see synergy flowing everywhere…. Like, oops! You forgot to pick-up stamps at the post office.  You get to work and your co-worker just so happens to be going and asks if you need anything.  Viola! Your stamps! Or you have been wanting a piano for ages and a friend just happens to be giving one away!!

Then there are “Those” days where it seems like you are running into one brick wall after another.  How would it be different if you allowed for an attitude of relaxation and a willingness to let your life flow without the tension of resistance. If there is a purpose to be found in everything that we do… What could be the purpose or opportunity in your brick wall? What might you be resisting? And it isn’t to throw your computer across the room because it isn’t doing what you would like.  Could it be a reminder that our pace and need to get things done is not allowing our energies to flow in such away that we are open and conscious to what is at our fingertips?

So the next time you run into a brick wall, I invite you to breathe and stay open to where you might be resisting the flow of life.  Cuz ya just never know…there might be a ladder laying right next to you and you’re just not seeing it.
